Chicken Shawarma

What is Chicken Shawarma

Chicken shawarma is a modern twist on a centuries-old culinary tradition from the Middle East — a dish born of fire, spice, and slow perfection.

The word Shawarma comes from the Turkish çevirme, meaning “turning,” referring to the method of stacking meat on a vertical spit and roasting it slowly as it rotates. This technique originated during the Ottoman Empire and became a cornerstone of Middle Eastern street food culture.

Originally made with lamb, shawarma evolved as it spread, and chicken became a widely loved variation — lighter, quicker to cook, but just as flavorful. Marinated in a bold blend of garlic, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, lemon, cardamom, and allspice, chicken shawarma delivers deep, warm, aromatic notes with every bite.

At Sultan’s Market, we make our Chicken Shawarma fresh daily — fire-roasted, tender, and perfectly seasoned. It’s wrapped in a warm pita with tomato, cucumber, and our house-made garlic sauce. No shortcuts. Just bold, balanced flavor rooted in tradition.
